At our next Conference in Brussels in October (19.10.2017) we will be asking you to vote for the appointment of the members of the Board, as the Association's Articles require for a three year period commencing at the end of the next Conference. Current members of the Board are eligible for re-election.
Any member who has the support of three other members from different organizations can stand in the election to become a Board member of the Association.
As you may recall there are 10 seats on the Board and the vote will be a single round non-transferable system.
The work of the Board is often not seen, but without the commitment, hard work and enthusiasm of the Board members, our Association would not be in such a strong position as it is today.
It is vital, in my view, that this work be continued. We have come a long way in a short space of time and this must be pursued so that our Association retains its position as the only global association representing the interests of Indirect tax experts, in all of our different fields - globally.
The work of the Board requires that members of the Board spend on average about 10 hours per month of their time on the Association's and its members’ affairs - with more time spent at the conferences. Board members are required to attend all conferences.
This is a significant commitment of time - but which is vital for the Association to succeed.
