In July, in Sanit-Petersburg the Russian Federation will host the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship, UEFA Euro 2020.
In the organization and conduct traditionally attended by a large number of foreign sports, marketing, and other organizations. Most companies participating in the UEFA sports events will have incurred costs in Russia (accommodation, technical costs, local purchases ant, etc.) on which they will pay Russian VAT.
For the purposes of the UEFA Euro 2020, the Russian Government has introduced the possibility of a refund of VAT paid by foreign organizers and marketing partners (Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1308 dated 10th of October 2019). In order to be able to refund the VAT paid by these organizations, they should have a contract with the UEFA.
